KUALA LUMPUR: The absence of Datuk Seri Najib Razak at his youngest son's engagement ceremony today has been highlighted by Umno supreme council member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi.

Describing the ceremony as "incomplete" without the attendance of the former prime minister, Puad took to Facebook to congratulate the newly-betrothed Ashman Najib and Nicola Mulyadi.

"Ashman is also excited because, at 3pm, he and his fiance will visit 'Bossku' (Najib) in Kajang.

"Let's pray that he (Najib) will attend their wedding ceremony," he added.

Ashman's engagement ceremony was attended by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

During the ceremony, a member of the Umno supreme council, Datuk Johan Abd Aziz represented Nicola Muyadi's family while another member, Datuk Wira Megat Zulkarnain Omardin represented Najib's family.

Puad added that Ashman remained calm and cheerful throughout the entire event.
