KUALA LUMPUR: A clinic in Selayang is the first in the country to offer a Rahmah physiotherapy package for the underprivileged group, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said.

Salahuddin said the physiotherapy session marked the first medical-related package under the Rahmah umbrella offered to the lower-income groups.

"The Rahmah initiative started from food menus, and now it has included medical practices starting with physiotherapy sessions.

"Congratulations to BeVital Group Sdn Bhd clinic for offering physiotherapy package for B40 group and asnaf at RM20 and RM5 a session respectively," he said in a press conference after launching the clinic's physiotherapy session at Dataran Emerald here, today.

Salahuddin also called on the public to not judge the quality of the Rahmah offerings due to its low price.

"Just like the Rahmah menu, do not be quick to perceive that the quality or the service is low because the price is affordable.

"For the physiotherapy sessions, there are experts to perform the treatment.

"This is not cheap publicity but a social responsibility by BeVital to help those from underprivileged backgrounds. The public can also try out their services at RM159 per session," he said.

For those interested to book the Rahmah physiotherapy session, BeVital founder Dr Ahmad Munawwar Helmi Salim said they could book an appointment by calling the clinic ahead.

"As a social enterprise, we also welcome those who want to donate to sponsor patients.

"With more people coming over to the clinic to seek treatment, we will be able to cover for more who need the treatment at a lower cost. That is how we sustain our operations," he said.
