GUA MUSANG: A lorry driver was killed when his vehicle laden with butter collided with another lorry here today.
District police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said the crash occured along Jalan Gua Musang-Jeli about noon.
"The incident happened when the victim who was travelling from Gua Musang to Jeli, lost control of the lorry when it arrived at a sharp bend.
"This resulted in his vehicle straying into the opposite lane and colliding with another lorry coming from the other direction.
"The impact caused the 40-year-old lorry driver to die on the spot," he said in a statement.
Sik said the driver of the other lorry suffered injuries and was sent to the Gua Musang Hospital later.
"The victim's body was also sent to the same hospital for post-mortem examination," he added.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
