KUALA LUMPUR: Firemen rescued 14 people from a burning printing shop in Lengkungan Brunei, Pudu early today.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department received a call about the incident around 5.35am, said senior operations commander Mohd Azhar Harun.

A total of 26 firemen from three fire stations were deployed to the scene.

Azhar said they rescued the 14 people, including an elderly woman, who were trapped in the building.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was extinguished at 7.24am, he said in a statement.

He said the department was investigating the cause of the fire and the extent of losses.
