KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu and Kelantan recorded 25,208 people who were displaced due to floods as of 12pm today.

The Terengganu Disaster Management Committee secretariat, in a Facebook post, stated that there was no rain at the flood-affected areas since this morning.

It said there were 16,183 evacuees from 4,223 families seeking shelter at 77 relief centres in Terengganu.

"In Kemaman, 8,308 flood evacuees from 2,107 families are at 23 relief centres, while 3,814 victims from 964 families are at 18 flood relief centres in Hulu Terengganu.

"In Dungun, there are 2,698 victims from 793 families at 23 relief centres and in Kuala Terengganu, 462 people from 120 families are at three relief centres," it said, adding that 498 victims from 139 families in Kuala Nerus remained at five relief centres.

"There are 348 people from 85 families who are at three relief centres since yesterday in Besut, and 55 people from 15 families at two centres in Setiu."

The committee also shared that there were 9,025 people from 2,992 families seeking shelter at 30 relief centres in Kelantan.

Earlier today, the Kelantan deputy police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun was reported as saying that the water level in the Tumpat district continued to rise, due to the high water level at Sungai Golok, which had overflowed into Kuala Jambu in Tumpat.
