TAWAU: Two siblings were found dead while another one was still missing after a boat capsized near Kampung Batu Payung here.
District Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the two victims were found drowned by the villagers this morning.
They were identified as Jaidi Muhaimin,5, and Saiful Muhaimin, 15.
He said the first victim, Jaidi, was found on the beach at 6.30am while Saiful's body was found in Tinagat waters at 8.58am.
Another victim, Rahena Muhaimin, 20, has yet to be found.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation is underway with the help of two boats from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, a Civil Defence Force boat and 20 villagers' boats.
Yesterday, the trio were reported missing at 4.45pm when the boat they were travelling in with six others sank while on their way back to Kampung Batu Payung from Batu 4 Kampung Rawa-Rawa.
