KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply has been fully restored to one of the eight territories that faced water disruption due to the upgrading and maintenance works of critical assets at the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said as of 12pm today, the restoration of water supply to the 998 affected areas had reached 68 per cent, compared to 50.6 per cent earlier at 9am.

"So far, water supply has been fully restored in Hulu Selangor, while (the restoration rate) in Kuala Selangor stood at 99.4 per cent, followed by Shah Alam (94.2 per cent), Petaling (89.8 per cent) and Kuala Langat (85.7 per cent).

"However, Gombak recorded a restoration rate of 65.5 per cent, followed by Kuala Lumpur (38.6 per cent) and Klang (16.8 per cent)," the statement read.

Air Selangor said the duration of water supply disruption and restoration in affected areas varied depending on the location of the consumers' premises and water pressure of the supply distribution system.

"We hope consumers who have received the water supply will use it frugally to ensure the restoration process at other affected areas can progress smoothly as scheduled.
