KUALA LUMPUR: The maintenance and upgrading works of critical assets at the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1 WTP) have been completed at 5am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, in a social media update, said the water treatment system at the WTP had been stabilised at 6am and water supply has been channeled to the distribution system.

As per its announcement yesterday, Air Selangor said water supply will be restored in stages to affected consumers in the Klang Valley from 5pm today.

The duration of disruption and supply recovery will vary depending on the location of the consumers' premises and the current water pressure of the supply distribution system.

The water concessionaire said it has mobilised alternative water supply through tanker lorries to critical premises such as hospitals, dialysis centres, Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC), vaccination centres (PPV) and funeral ceremonies.

A total of 998 areas in the Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor are affected by the four-day scheduled water supply disruption.
