KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded another 118 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, bringing the overall total to 26,683.

According to the CovidNow website updated as of 11.58am yesterday, 27 of the deaths were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

At the national level, there were an average 4.6 deaths per 100,000 people over the past two weeks.

Penang recorded the most number of deaths in the same period with 11.7 deaths per 100,000 people followed by 8.6 in Perlis and 7.2 in Johor.

There are 150,317 active Covid-19 cases nationwide with 123,413 or 82.1 per cent of patients under home quarantine.

Another 17,137 patients or 11.4 per cent of them are placed at Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centrea (PKRC), while 8,907 patients or 5.2 per cent are hospitalised.

There are 860 patients warded at Intensive Care Units (ICU) with 478 on ventilator support.

The CovidNow site also stated that Penang has the highest ICU utilisation rate at 97 per cent followed by Perak at 80.9 per cent and Putrajaya with 80 per cent.

On vaccinations, 87.6 per cent of the adult population nationwide are now fully vaccinated, while 94.3 per cent are partially vaccinated.

To date, 55.7 per cent of adolescents aged between 12 and 17-years old have received at least one dose, while 3.5 per cent have been fully vaccinated against the virus.

The highest number of adolescents who have been immunised is in Perlis at 80.06 per cent.

By Oct 31, 80 per cent of adolescents or over 2.5 million are expected to be fully vaccinated after the immunisation for the age group began on Sept 8.

Data also shows that as of yesterday, 77.2 per cent Pfizer vaccines had been dispensed this month followed by 15.6 per cent of AstraZeneca and 6.7 per cent of Sinovac. The administering of the Cansino vaccine was at 0.6 per cent.
