KUALA LUMPUR: The wellbeing of the people cannot be achieved if the society is not united.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said history has taught us all that it is imperative to foster and strengthen unity in developing the nation.

When tabling the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) in the Dewan Rakyat today, Ismail Sabri said the government would strengthen the unity of 'Keluarga Malaysia' through more inclusive unity and sports programmes.

"The unity of the people from various races and religions as well as cross-cultural national intergration which transcend political ideology is the backbone of our strength as a Keluarga Malaysia unit.

"Let us strengthen and elevate our patriotism and volunteerism spirit. This can be achieved by making use of the benefits that are available on various media and digital platforms.

"The understanding as well as the embracing of the Federal Constitution and the Rukun Negara must also continue, especially among our children and younger generation," he said.
