KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has detected 39 new Covid-19 clusters, which contributed 1,289 out of the 19,631 new Covid-19 cases, today.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 23 out of the 39 new clusters are linked to workplaces.

"We detected 709 new Covid-19 cases from the workplace-linked cluster, while 462 cases were detected from 13 new community clusters, 102 cases from two new detention centres and 16 were found from one new high-risk group cluster," he said in a statement today.

Dr Noor Hisham said the two states which recorded the highest number of new clusters today were Selangor, and Kelantan with 10 and seven, respectively.

"There were four clusters each in Johor, Sarawak and Penang.

"There were three clusters in Negri Sembilan, two in Pahang, and one each in Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Sabah, Melaka and Terengganu."

The total number of Covid-19 clusters now stands at 4,257, with 1,360 active clusters currently and 2,897 clusters that have ended," he said.
