KOTA BARU: Labourer Yusuf Husin and his two family members lost all their belongings after their house was destroyed in a fire last week.

Since the fire occured at Kampung Landak near Pengkalan Chepa, the 80-year-old, his wife Maimon Saad, 60, and their son only known as Hairi have been staying at a relative's home.

Yusof said they have no other place to go except to seek temporary shelter with the relative.

"We have lost all our belongings in the fire. We could not even save any piece of clothing. We are lucky that we managed to rescue ourselves in the evening fire," he said when met at the site of his razed home today.

Yusuf, who is a father of seven hoped that his family could return to their home one day although he did not know how to go about rebuilding it.

"I just pray for a miracle to happen. I don't know. Perhaps a generous person will donate us some money to help rebuild our home.

"We have been staying here for more than 30 years," he said as he inspected what remained of the house.

Today, Yusof and his children also received a suprise visit from Pengkalan Chepa member of parliament Datuk Ahmad Marzuk Shaary who later donated some cash to the labourer.

"We will try to solve the problem faced by the family as soon as possible," said Marzuk.
