PAGOH: Despite the trying times due to the Covid-19 pandemic, needy folk here are still blessed with fresh supplies of fish and vegetables.

With the help of volunteers, the food supplies are delivered to various locations following a daily schedule.

A volunteer, Norapan Baki said the team sacrificed their time to ensure the supplies were delivered to the doorsteps of all those in need.

"Even yesterday which was a public holiday, we gathered at the Belia Elit Pagoh (BEeP) Club in Pagoh Jaya as early as 6.30am to pack the vegetables which were dropped off there.

"Among those who dropped by to help us were the village heads. The vegetables must be packed fast and delivered the same day to avoid rotting," she said.

Muhammad Shamsuddin Paijan, the Johor Armada chief said he was very thankful for all the contributions and dedication by the volunteers.

"I am also grateful for the time put in by my Armada team and the Srikandi volunteers to ensure everyone in need gets the aid," he said.

Among others, the fresh food supplies were sent to the Kampung Selabu and Lenga areas while Temiang and Pagoh Jaya received dry food supplies from the Bakul Prihatin programme.

This was delivered by the Srikandi Bersatu Pagoh team headed by its chief, Janariah Abu Nawan.
