KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded 14,516 new Covid-19 cases today, with Klang Valley contributing to 55 per cent of the infections.

The Health Ministry, in a tweet today, reported that the country's cumulative cases currently stands at 1,027,954.

Selangor alone accounted for 6,508 cases while Johor recorded a surge in infections (1,449) ahead of Kuala Lumpur (1,425).

Sabah reported 720 cases, followed by Perak (590), Negri Sembilan (452) and Penang (402).

Only Perlis and Labuan recorded single-digit infections, with two and eight cases, respectively.
