JOHOR BARU: To help alleviate the plight of the homeless living on the streets here, assistance has been mobilised to ensure the needy have sufficient food.
Johor Bersatu Srikandi chief Azlinda Latif led a group of volunteers to hand out food packages to the homeless under the Street Kitchen programme.
"It is quite sad to see them living on the streets due to circumstances. We try to do our best to ensure that they at least have food to eat," said Azlinda.
Her team also tried to help the homeless get jobs in Gelang Patah, as well as register them for Covid-19 vaccination.
This, she added, would help Johor achieve herd immunity faster.
