KOTA BARU: Four routes heading to Kampung Pulau Tukang Dollah near Kemumin here will be closed for two weeks following the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

State deputy police chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Muhammad Piah said the routes will be closed from tomorrow until July 8.

He said 25 personnel from various agencies such as the police, army and Rela, would be deployed to the village from midnight.

"The personnel will man the roadblocks at the routes in the village while another route will be closed with concertina wires.

"They are told to monitor the area to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the village following a spike in Covid-19 cases recently," he told reporters after visiting one of the sites today.

He was accompanied by Kota Baru police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahim Daud.

Abdullah said the EMCO at the village was the fifth to be imposed in Kelantan since the lockdown.

"The other four EMCOs were implemented in Tumpat and Pasir Puteh involving some 140 personnel from various agencies.

"Two of the EMCOs, both in Tumpat, will end tonight (midnight)," he said.

He warned villagers to adhere to the directive and not to leave the EMCO areas to avoid stern action.

"Police will not hesitate to take action against them if they are found to have flouted the order," he added.
