PAGOH: A mobile unit has managed to vaccinate members of the Orang Asli community at Kampung Sentosa near here with the Covid-19 vaccine.

This "vaccine2u" approach has been welcomed by the community as it is difficult for them to travel to vaccination centres.

"The mobile unit makes the vaccination process more efficient and faster for those in rural areas.

"It also boosts the confidence of the community who turned up to see others getting vaccinated with no ill effects," said Johor Orang Asli Development Department deputy director Mohd Badri Ismail.

The department registered as many Kampung Sentosa residents as possible before the arrival of the mobile unit. They were then vaccinated inside the bus when it arrived.

Also present were Muar district officer Mustaffa Kamal Shamsudin and Bukit Kepong state assemblyman Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal.

Food supplies were also distributed to the Orang Asli community by Sahruddin under the Prihatin Pagoh programme.
