KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will allow Hari Raya visiting among close family members with conditions set by the state's National Security Council.

The standard operating procedure (SOP) for Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, issued today, states that home visits are only allowed from the first to third day of Hari Raya, with a maximum of 10 guests every two hours.

Family members must be from the same district and the Raya visiting session is limited from 9am to 9pm.

Homeowners or hosts are also required to prepare the MySejahtera QR Code and to comply with the public health protocol.

As for grave visits, only six family members are allowed to be at one grave lot. A 45-minute time limit is given for one grave lot during the visit.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said Raya takbir is allowed after Solat Isyak and Solat Subuh, adding that each family is encouraged to perform the Raya takbir at their respective homes until Aidilfitri Solat Sunat is carried out.

The SOP also allows Khutbah to be delivered, with the reading being shortened to a maximum of 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, Hari Raya events or open houses, takbir practice from house to house and setting up of additional canopies or use of car park at mosque/surau compound as praying space are not allowed.

Children aged below 12, those from the high-risk groups, and women are also not allowed and encouraged to join in prayer congregation as well as the Aidilfitri Solat Sunat activity.

Today, Sabah recorded 50 new infections and one death in Kunak.

Masidi noted that of the 50 new positive cases, 31 infections were detected via close contact screening, nine cases from symptomatic screening, seven cases emerged from existing clusters, and three infections from other categories.

On SOP violations, he said compounds were issued to 30 people for not wearing face masks and two individuals for failing to provide the required device to record customer's details.
