KUANTAN: The state government plans to offer a wide range of additional features for the Pahang Go mobile application as it continues to gain popularity.

Besides paying utility bills, parking fees, vehicle road tax renewals, phone bills and other services, people can soon click on the app to purchase entrance tickets to recreational parks owned by the state government.

State Science, Green Technology, Communications and Multimedia committee chairman Datuk Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohd Ariff said those planning to visit Cameron Highlands' Mossy Forest, which is famed for its Lord of the Rings-like scenery, and the Endau-Rompin National Park will soon be able to buy e-tickets using the application.

"We want to bring greater convenience to the people here so that they can secure tickets before travelling. More destinations will be offered through the app in stages.

"There are plans to issue the online version of the 13D form, also known as a 'docket', which is obtained from the Land and Mines Department by companies transporting minerals. This is in the advance stages of discussions with the relevant agencies," he told reporters after launching two websites namely "app.PahangGo.com" and "pelandigital.PahangGo.com" at Wisma Sri Pahang here.

Fakhruddin described Pahang Go as a success since it has attracted some 140,000 registered users since August last year and collected RM800,000 a month since the Movement Control Order came into force this year.

"The payments collected are from quit rents, utility bills, phone bills, parking coupons and online purchases. People find it convenient to make purchases from the comfort of their homes without any additional charges.

"Currently only three local authorities (PBT) are offering the mobile parking coupon services namely in Kuantan, Bentong and Cameron Highlands. The remaining eight PBT's are in the midst of making technical preparations to offer services...we hope it will be soon," he said.

On the two websites, he said "app.PahangGo.com" was similar to the mobile app, allowing people to access the same services on computers while "pelandigital.PahangGo.com" is a platform for people to share their ideas on the Pahang 2021-2025 digital plan before the official launch in February next year.
