KANGAR: Kuala Sanglang in Perlis has been placed under the Targeted Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) starting tonight until Sept 9.

The state government in a statement today said the decision was made after considering the increasing number of Covid-19 cases involving two villages - Kampung Tanah Timbul and Kampung Kuala Sanglang.

"Residents in the area are urged to fully cooperate with the authorities as the TEMCO will be applying Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) standard operating procedures (SOP) with roadblocks at the entry points.

"The public outside of the TEMCO area will not be allowed to enter except to provide essential services.

"Residents in the two affected villages are asked to adhere to home quarantine rules even after being tested," it said.

Only the head of the family would be allowed to leave the house and buy necessities while awaiting their Covid-19 test results.

It also said Covid-19 screening results would be available within four days after the test was taken.

"The state government will provide necessary aid to affected residents," it added.

Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man had previously said the decision to implement TEMCO was after receiving confirmation that an additional 10 Covid-19 cases involving a family in Sanglang were linked to the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah.
