KUALA LUMPUR: Social media, as "toxic" as some people make it these days, is still very much a heartwarming place where comedy can crop up in between and put smiles on people's faces.

That is the case with a news report aired on Buletin TV3 yesterday on the compliance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) by highway users following the government's announcement that interstate travel is now permitted in the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase.

The report showed video footages of members of the public at highways in the country, which included interviews with road users on the preparations they made to travel in this "new normal".

However, in the footage, a woman in a white shirt and grey hijab was spotted running across the screen carrying an orange cat.

It is believed the shot was randomly taken and the woman was not featured in any of the interviews.

The panicky way she was running while carrying the cat attracted the attention of social media users when Twitter user @Ijulnaim shared the video, captioned: "Tak yang tetiba ada akak baju putih berlari dukung kucing tu kenapa @BuletinTV3." (Why is there suddenly a shot of a lady running while carrying a cat?)

His tweet has been Retweeted over 26,000 times since it was posted last night.

Local stand-up comedian Prakash Daniel also shared the tweet, saying, "Can I know if the cat is safe @BuletinTV3?"

Many offered their funny remarks with one Twitter user offering a possible explanation that the cat could have suddenly needed to use the toilet.

Whatever the reason behind the woman dashing with the cat, we hope the orange kitty is safe and sound at his or her hometown by now.

Perhaps if this report can go viral and attract the attention of the "kakak baju putih", she can provide us with an explanation of what actually happened. So Netizens, do your thing.

Social media, as "toxic" as some people make it these days, is still very much a heartwarming place where comedy can crop up in between and put smiles on people's faces.
