IPOH: Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu stressed his ties with all state exco members are good, despite there being rumours and allegations of an attempt to oust him.

In fact, Ahmad Faizal deemed the current state exco line-up as one big happy family that is not free from problems.

"With regard to the rumours (of an attempt to oust the MB)... I look at it as rumours, not something concrete that will happen.

"What I wish to stress is that since I became MB, I have had a good relationship with all of my exco friends and we also meet weekly at the exco meeting.

"From what I can recall, the longest I did not hold a meeting was during the hari raya break, when there was no meeting for two weeks," he told reporters at the media room of the state assembly, here, today.

Ahmad Faizal was commenting on news reports alleging there was an attempt to oust him as MB by several state exco members who would put forth a motion of no confidence.

On Sunday, Perak Umno liaison chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad claimed several exco members wanted to bring Ahmad Faizal down.

Saarani claimed that at least five Umno assemblymen had been contacted and given various offers to help in the move by supporting the motion of no confidence against Ahmad Faizal in the state assembly.

However, Saarani alleged that all Umno representatives in the state would not get involved in the plan.

Yesterday, Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman reportedly alleged the crisis in Perak under Pakatan Harapan (PH) is at its peak.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Faizal said people could make allegations but stressed that the state government's main priority was to give its best to the rakyat.

He called for a stop to the political polemic, saying that anyone can claim to have proof but until something actually happens, he would refrain from making comments on the matter.

"If there are discussions and meetings and so on, that means nothing has materialised, so why must we comment on something that has not materialised?

"I do not deny (attempts to oust the MB), but if there are such efforts, it has not worked out. So let us focus on our work," he said.

Ahmad Faizal added that all exco members have been attending meetings and have so far been carrying out their duties well.

He added that he has yet to see any exco member skipping meetings for not being able to see eye to eye with him.
