GEORGE TOWN: Senior lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia's (USM) School of Humanities Associate Professor Dr Rahimah A Hamid passed away last night at the USM Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI) in Bertam.
Mother of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) Youth esco Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir, Rahimah, 56, breathed her last at 8.01pm after suffering from stage four enometrium cancer.
News of her passing was conveyed by her son on Facebook, informing that his mother only knew of her ailment two months ago.
"Although we only knew of her cancer two months ago and that it was already at stage four, until today, I dare say it is difficult for me to accept this fact," he said, adding that his mother had also just returned from performing the Haj.
Rahimah leaves behind two children and she was laid to rest at the Felda Lurah Bilut Muslim cemetery in Raub, this morning.
