BATU PAHAT: A mother is at her wit’s end seeking her toddler son, Hayyan Ariqin, who was taken away by her former husband over a year ago.
Siti Da Arafah Minal, 29, had so far lodged 16 police reports with five arrest warrants were issued against the man who had yet to be located.
The heart-wrenching story of a mother pinning for her one-year-old son in a post titled ‘Return Hayyan Ariqin’ had also went viral on Facebook since Monday.
Arafah was said to have lodged police reports in Batu Pahat and Kempas, Johor, as well as Bangi and Senawang in Selangor.
The court had also issued a search warrant, but Arafah, who works as an engineer, said no against the man was taken.
She had also bought raya clothes and cake for Hayyan Ariqin who was born on Oct 4, 2016, despite not able to meet the baby.
Arafah, who was awarded temporary custody of Hayyan Ariqin after the divorce, said her son went missing after she handed him to her former husband, Mohd Hatta Hussein, in Bangi, in July last year.
She said Hatta was supposed to return Hayyan the same day, but did not turn up, prompting her to lodge a police report.
She was escorted by policemen and lawyer to Hatta’s house in Taman Seri Kenangan, Batu Pahat, but was stopped from seeing her son by his family.
When Arafah returned to the house the next day, both the father and son were no longer at home.
“I would cry everyday thinking about Hayyan, especially when I see children his age.
“Furthermore, he was breastfeeding since birth and had rejected formula milk, so I can’t imagine his condition now.
“To my former husband and family, please take pity on me and Hayyan who needs a mother’s love,” she said when contacted.
She said she would continue looking for her son and would stop at nothing, thanking family and friends who had supported her.
