KUALA LUMPUR: The National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun Nasional) and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for an academic enhancement programme for Tekun Nasional staff.

A total of 18 heads and 24 deputy heads of department will be taking part in the programme.

Tekun Nasional managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Baharom Embi said the aim was to upgrade their entrepreneurial skills and upgrade their knowledge.

“Forty-two Tekun Nasional staff were selected to undergo a three-month academic programme. We have a lot of case studies to share with UUM. UUM is also studying our human resource system. Both sides will benefit from the programme,” he said at the Tekun Nasional headquarters here today.

“The programme’s main objective is to provide exposure on the management of business, marketing and many more. I hope the programme will boost staff competency and benefit entrepreneurs.”

Present were UUM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Professor Dr Ayoib Che Ahmad and Tekun Nasional trust board member Siti Norazlina Seni.
