KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, hopes that the authorities will respect the process of law in the course of their investigation to avoid any premature judgment by the public.

Rosmah, in a brief statement issued by law firm Valen, Oh & Partners, said recent incidents appear to have been doe with the aim of generating anger among the public towards the family.

“Although affected by what has happened, we have and will continue to cooperate in any questioning and will be present if needed by any authority,” said the statement.

She said the inquiry process the family is going through appears to be ‘doubtful’, as there appear to be information leakages to social media, especially on details concerning the seized items.

“The authorities should not have played a role in the rise of numerous criticism and insults on social media, and instead, abide by the law and act professionally when carrying out their duties,” she said.

The statement was verified by lawyer M Puravelan, when contacted.
