KOTA TINGGI: The home of Felda Aping Timur Umno branch chief Mismat Buang at Jalan Bayu Felda Bukit Aping Timur here was gutted in a blaze last night.
No one was injured in the incident.
Kota Tinggi Fire and Rescue Department station chief Azman Jantan said an emergency distress call on the blaze was received at 9.56pm.
“A six-man team and fire truck were immediately deployed, and arrived at the scene at about 10.28pm.
“The house was already 70 per cent destroyed, (but the team) managed to bring the fire under control.
“The operation is still on-going to prevent any further damage to the building,” said Azman.
He added that the department’s forensic team will be investigating the cause of the blaze, while an estimate on losses is being ascertained.
