GEORGE TOWN: The parents of an eight-month-old baby boy, suffering from Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), are seeking donations from the public for their son’s operation.

Ahmad Fawwaz Ahmad Bukhari was diagnosed with VSC since birth and is in need of RM60,000 to undergo surgery.

His mother, Siti Faridah Abdul Halim, 24, from Permatang Pauh, said that the family has been commuting back and forth to Seberang Jaya Hospital for their son’s check-up frequently.

The housewife said Ahmad Fawwaz has a twin brother, Ahmad Fayyadh, who was born healthy.

"Ahmad Fawwaz is expected to undergo the surgery on March 30 and I hope everything goes smoothly.

“I really hope he will be as healthy as his twin brother," she said when met at Gleneagles Penang Medical Centre here today.

Siti Faridah’s husband, Ahmad Bukhari Abdul Halim, 24, said his monthly income was RM2,300 as a technician which was not enough to pay for the operation.

"We cannot bear to see our boy suffering any longer. We hope people will help to ease the pain he is suffering," said Ahmad Bukhari.
