PUTRAJAYA: Year Six pupil Muhammad Aliff Mat Noor may not have scored straights A's for his Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination, but he is far from disappointed.

This is because, despite getting one A, three C's and two D's, the SK Putrajaya Presint 14(1) student knows he is an all-rounder, seen from his Primary School Assessment Report results.

The Year Six student is active in school sports and has represented the school in football at district level.

"Although my results are not excellent, I'm not too disappointed as I know I can try harde when I enter secondary school," he said.

Aliff obtained one A in Bahasa Melayu (Writing), C's for Bahasa Melayu (Comprehension), English (Comprehension ) and English (Writing) and two D's for Mathematics and Science.

"I have never been particularly strong in academics and was placed in the fifth or last class of Primary Six in my school.

"However, my teachers worked really hard to coach and educate me. They didn't give up on me at all and I thank them for that.

"I was really shocked that I passed with the minimum standard requirement and did not fail any subject. This is actually a proud moment for me," he added.

Aliff hopes to secure a place in a sports school so he can continue to excel in sports.

Meanwhile Syed Daniel Faris who is a straight A's scorer in the UPSR exam, said he was happy to receive excellent results.

"I'm happy that I did not disappoint my parents who have guided and supported me to achieve good marks," he added.

When asked on the new assessment system, he said it is good to give equal importance and recognition to other aspects, not just academics.
