BELURAN: Police are looking for a man to facilitate investigations into a stabbing incident on Sunday which left two men seriously injured.

District police chief Supt Shivananthan Velautham said the man, identified as Amir, was alleged to have stabbed Orly Esparaguerra, 30, and Arifin, 33, at the workers' quarters of the Sungai Sabang Sugut plantation.

Orly was stabbed on the right chest while Ariffin on his left abdomen. Both men have been warded at Pitas Hospital and reported to be stable.

"Based on statement from a family member, the suspect was drinking at his unit when the two men joined him around 7pm.

"Following an argument, the suspect suddenly took out a knife and attacked both men before fleeing." he said.

Shivananthan said Arifin, despite being injured, managed to seek the help of a security guard at the workers' quarters to send both of them to hospital.

He added that police have yet to ascertained the motive of the attack.
