TANAH MERAH: Relatives of Assistant Superintendent Mohd Noor Mat Yaub, who was killed in a car accident in Baling, Kedah, yesterday, are attempting to have his three injured daughters – who are being treated at the Sultan Abdul Halim hospital in Sungai Petani – transferred to a hospital here.

Mohd Noor's father-in-law, Abdul Rahman Daud, said they have requested police assistance to get Irdina Alaih, 11, Insyirah Aliah, 10 and Imanina Aliah, 6, to continue their treatment at the Tanah Merah hospital.

"We made the request to several senior officers who came for the burial here yesterday, and they promised to look into the matter," Abdul Rahman said when met at his home in Kampung Buluh in Gual Ipoh, today.

Mohd Noor, the Baling police narcotics investigations department head, and his wife, Suriya Abdul Rahman, were killed in a three-vehicle accident at Kampung Teluk Teduri, Baling, yesterday morning.

The couple were buried at the Kampung Buluh cemetery at about 6.30pm.

Abdul Rahman said it would be easier for the family to take care of the three children here, as they have many family members in Tanah Merah who could alternate in looking after them at the hospital.

The couple's two other children, Muhamad Adib Mustakim, 8, who suffered a slight injury in the accident, and Mohd Adib Mirza, 5, are already at their family home here.

Mirza was not in the car, as his parents had dropped him off at his nanny's house prior to the accident.

Meanwhile Mustakim, who is still traumatised by the accident, said he does not remember anything about the accident, as he was sleeping in the back seat of the car when events took place.

"I woke up and found that I had been flung out of the car with two other sisters, while the other was still in the back of the car. Father and mother were lying motionless in their seats," he said.
