KUALA LUMPUR: All civil servants at federal- and state-levels have been instructed to promptly update their information and data in the Central Database Hub (Padu) system by Feb 15.

The instruction was issued by Public Service Department director-general Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz via a circular dated Jan 17, which was posted on the department's official Facebook account today.

The circular was addressed to secretaries-general of all ministries, all heads of departments at the federal-level, state secretaries and heads of all statutory bodies at the federal-, state-, and local government- levels.

Wan Dahlan said the matter was brought up by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a National Economic Action Council session on Jan 14.

"All public servants at ministries/departments/agencies at the federal level, in the states, as well as statutory bodies at the federal, state, and local government-levels are requested to register and update their information on the Padu portal through the link https://padu.gov.my.

"For your information, the Economy Ministry has been tasked with monitoring and ensuring a smooth registration process.

"The cooperation and commitment of all public servants regarding this matter are crucial and necessary for the success of the Padu initiative," the circular read.

Launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Jan 2, Padu consolidates data from various government agencies under one roof.

It stands as one of the outcomes of the Madani government's new approach, showcasing agile implementation and the collective efforts of the entire government.

The implementation of Padu is to improve management efficiency that facilitates collecting, storing and managing data from various sources.

It also aims to improve the delivery of government services with Padu for better and more efficient services to be delivered to the people.

Apart from effective monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of national policies, Padu, which is an integrated and centralised database can save resources significantly.

All citizens aged 18 and above need to register and check data on the Padu portal as well as update and verify 39 required personal information.
