KANGAR: The nine Barisan Nasional assemblymen who had at first boycotted the swearing-in of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man have reiterated their new stand of being fully behind their state leader.

Titi Tinggi assemblyman Teh Chai Ann said the crisis which had occurred earlier was considered over, adding that all the BN assemblymen would support Azlan.

This follows a statement from Perlis BNsecretary Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin that the issue was not solved yet.

“I am puzzled as to why (Zahidi) would say that the issue was not settled. The focus now is on the people, so things like this should be avoided.

“It’s time this stopped. Now it is time to work for the people who have given us the mandate and the responsibility,” he said.

Zahidi was quoted by news portal Malaysiakini that he would bring the matter of Azlan’s appointment as menteri besar to court.

He said this was because the Bintong assemblymen’s appointment went against state statutes which say the menteri besar must have the support of the majority of assemblymen.

Chuping assemblyman Asmaiza Ahmad had, before this, said that all nine BN assemblymen were now fully behind Azlan.
