KUALA LUMPUR: A controversial former policewoman is among three individuals who will be questioned by police in relation to the cyberbullying case of a social media influencer.
This follows a police report lodged by the mother of deceased social media influencer A. Rajeswary, better known as Esha.
Puspa P. Rajagopal lodged a police report on Friday against two men and a woman in connection with the cyberbullying case against her daughter.
Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said the report that was lodged by the victim's mother at the Gombak police headquarters has been referred to the initial investigation paper.
"Three individuals have been identified and we are in the midst of our investigations.
"We will make arrangements to record statements from these three individuals," he said when contacted recently.
When asked, Ahmad Sukarno confirmed that the woman who is sought for questioning is a policewoman who is currently suspended.
Puspa claimed on Friday that the three individuals had uploaded videos and conducted live sessions targeting her daughter.
She said throughout the week, she was informed that there were videos and live broadcasts uploaded by the three individuals in question, discussing Esha.
Puspa also claimed that in the live social media broadcast, the woman questioned Esha's previous detention by the police.
"In the live sessions, they called my daughter rude. Hearing their insults broke my heart because we have our dignity too," she was quoted saying.
Two people have been arrested by police over the cyberbullying case so far.
The first was a 35-year-old woman who was arrested at around 1.45am at Jalan Cempaka 2, Bukit Beruntung Golf Resort, Rawang, on July 8.
Two days later, police arrested a 44-year-old lorry driver to help with further investigations.
