PUTRAJAYA: After about eight hours having his statement recorded, Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli said he was unsure why was he investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

When exiting the MACC compounds at about 6.55pm, he said he is investigated for multiple cases.

"There's a lot of cases . I'm also not sure (which section I'm being investigated on)," he said briefly.

When asked whether he'd be summoned again, he said: "No."

Earlier today, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said he was released on police bail.

"Yes (he was released on MACC bail). A statement by the corporate communications department will be released soon," he said when contacted.

Earlier, Azam confirmed that Mohd Shukri had his statement recorded at the MACC headquarters.

Previously, Mohd Shukri's son was among six individuals remanded by the MACC to assist in investigations into the falsification of documents involving a false claim amounting to RM600,000.

Last Sunday, MACC was reported to be investigating a senior leader in the northern region suspected of appointing several companies linked to him involving a supply project estimated at RM300,000.

The leader is also suspected of appointing several companies for road repair and maintenance works, involving an allocation of approximately RM1 million from the Menteri Besar's Office.

The companies are believed be linked to the son of the said leader.
