KUALA LUMPUR: Police are hunting for the eighth suspect in a gang robbery case involving RM260,000.

City police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the suspect has been identified as Mohamad Ardzuan Mohd Anuar, 34, and his last known address is A-45-05, Kenwingston Plus platz, KL North, Jalan Gombak, Kampung Kuantan, Kuala Lumpur.

"We have addresses on record, but he has not found at the locations.

"Even if he is not detained, action can still be taken. Charges can still be filed. He can be arrested later.

"I advise him to surrender. Provide the date, time and location for arrest to assist in our investigation," he said at a press conference at the Cheras district police headquarters here today (April 24).

He urged members of the public with information about the suspect to immediately inform the police.

He said the investigation papers for the case had been referred to the deputy public prosecutor and they were returned with suggestions for improvement.

On April 9, five police officers were among seven men, aged 28 to 41, arrested for allegedly robbing a foreigner of a watch and RM260,000.

The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 170 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and impersonating a public servant.

One of the suspects, a former VAT 69 officer, had allegedly impersonated a police officer during the robbery at a condominium in Jalan Tun Razak here.
