KUALKUALA LUMPUR: Muhammad Nur Hadith, the personal bodyguard who was shot at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) arrival hall on Sunday is now undergoing a major surgery.
His wife, Siti Noraida Hassan, 38, told the New Straits Times that he just entered the Hospital Cyberjaya operation theatres at about 12pm.
"He just went into the operation theatre. The doctor didn't say how long the surgery would last," she said briefly.
It is understood that Muhammad Nur Hadith is undergoing surgery for his small intestines and to check his other organs.
This is his first major surgery after he was shot, where he was put into a medically-induced coma.
In the 1.20am incident, a man fired two shots at his wife at the entrance of the arrival hall but missed, with one of the shots hitting the Muhammad Nur Hadith, who was one of her two bodyguards.
The suspect fled in a car parked at KLIA's level two of Block C but was detained by police yesterday in Kelantan.
Federal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said police identified the suspect as Hafizul Harawi, 38.
He will be arriving in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.
