BACHOK: The three-year-old boy, who died due to heat sroke here on April 1 had been found unconscious after playing inside an abandoned car three days before his death .

According to his grandmother Zainun Mat Amin, Muhamad Abeel Qaiz Faizal Fazrin was playing inside the car with his twin and two other siblings.

"The car which belonged to my husband, was an old Proton Iswara and could not be used anymore.

"It was left abandoned at the back of our home. At about noon on March 29, my four grandsons went to play inside the car.

"Three of them returned home, but Qaiz refused to return as he still wanted to play in the car.

"We only realised he was not at home about two hours later. We found him lying faced down at the car seat," said Zainun, 54, when met here today.

She said Qaiz was latet rushed to Bachok Health Clinic before being transferred to Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian.

He died at HUSM about 11.20am on April 1.

The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) had said today that a three-year-old child became the latest victim of heat stroke in Malaysia.

This unfortunate incident, which occurred on April 1 in Kelantan, marks the second heat-related death in the country, following the death of a 22-year-old individual in Pahang on Feb 2.
