KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a man suspected of being involved in a murder case in a nightclub recently as soon as the suspect arrived in the country from Thailand.

The matter was confirmed by Johor police chief Commissioner M. Kumar following the exchange of information between his side and his Thai counterparts.

According to him, the suspect, a local citizen, was arrested under Section 302 of the Penal Code as soon as he landed at Senai International Airport, Johor at about 11.30am yesterday.

"Yes, we (the police) arrested the man yesterday. A press conference will be held in the near future regarding the investigation and arrest," he said.

Earlier it went viral on social media that a local man had fled to a neighboring country after allegedly causing the death of an individual in an incident at a night club.
