ALOR STAR: Three men plead guilty at the Sessions Court here today to using fake documents to commit tax fraud for luxury cars among non-residents of Langkawi.

The accused, Ong Seng Aun, 59, Hoo Sui Bok, 47, and Ooi Liang Sheng, 36, pleaded guilty after the charges were read before judge Rohatul Akmar Abdullah.

Rohatul imposed a fine of RM5,000 on Seng Aun and Sui Bok, who faced one charge, while RM10,000 was imposed on Liang Sheng, who pleaded guilty to six charges.

According to the charges, Seng Aun, who is the owner of an automotive company managing Langkawi import car registrations, was accused of using counterfeit documents to reduce the import duty of a Ferrari owned by a non-Langkawi resident, at the Customs office in Bukit Malut on Oct 2, 2021.

Sui Bok, who owns a company maintaining luxury imported cars, was accused of committing the same offence with the intention to deceive to reduce the import duty of a Ferrari at an office in the Tanjung Lembung Jetty Complex in Langkawi.

Liang Sheng, who is also the owner of a luxury car-related company and a runner, was charged with six counts of falsifying documents to deceive between November 2018 and October 2021.

Deputy public prosecutor from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Nurul Atiqah Mohamad Alias and Muhamad Taufik Awaludin prosecuted.

Seng Aun and Liang Sheng were represented by lawyer Mohd Hakim Hamran and Sui Bok was represented by lawyer R. Sheshalini.
