BATU PAHAT: A man believed to be the boyfriend of missing single mother, Mila Sharmila Samsusah, 32, also known as Bella, has been arrested to assist in the investigation into her disappearance since Dec 14.

The 24-year-old suspect, employed at a courier company, is believed to be able to unravel the mystery of the woman's disappearance after she left her home in Taman Soga at 11.50 pm.

Batu Pahat police chief, Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah, confirmed the arrest when contacted.

"Yes, I confirm that we arrested the man on Dec 25, and the suspect is still on remand at the Batu Pahat police headquarters," he said.

Bella's disappearance almost two weeks ago continues to be a mystery despite various efforts, including police assistance, to locate her.

The mother of a four-year-old boy was reported to have left her house in her male friend's car at 11.50pm on Dec 14, wearing only dark blue batik clothes, to do laundry at a laundromat.

However, since that date, Bella has remained missing, and her mobile phone is unreachable. Messages sent through WhatsApp show only one check mark.

Surprisingly, the clothes intended for washing at the laundromat were found in Bella's house the next day after she was reported missing.

Bella's disappearance prompted her family members to file two police reports on Dec 16 and 18 at the Batu Pahat police headquarters.
