KOTA BARU: Two best friends were nabbed by the Thai police in possession of methamphetamine pills and ice tablets in a raid at Sungai Golok border yesterday.

A Sungai Golok police spokesman said the two, both Thai nationals, were arrested in the raid at a house in the sub-province, bordering Kelantan.

"A police party raided the house about 5.20pm after receiving information on drug activities being held at the premises.

"After raiding the house, police discovered 224 pills and 7.62 grams of ice tablets, and detained the two," said the spokesman in a statement.

The spokesman said the two, aged 29 and 37, were being held for further action.

"Thai police suspected the two had been selling the drugs to local addicts as well as those from Kelantan.

"The two might also be involved in the group that is active in smuggling drugs along the Kelantan/Thai border," the spokesman said.
