PETALING JAYA: A squad of four forensics police officers was seen carrying four paper bags from Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin's home at Apartment Idaman, at Damansara Damai here today.
The Selangor police forensics squad that arrived around 4.15pm today were believed to have conducted thorough checks at the house for about 45 minutes.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has confirmed to the Press that the squad was carrying samples to help with the investigation.
Parents of Zayn Rayyan, Imanira Abdul Manaf and husband, Zaim Ikhwan were seen leaving the compound at around the same time as the forensic team.
Earlier today, it was reported that the police took 228 DNA samples from the residence of the mentioned apartment.
Hussein also said that police have checked 2,824 units and 5,628 individuals related to the tragic case.
Previously, it was reported that a forensic examination at the Sungai Buloh Hospital Forensic Department yesterday found evidence of injuries to Zayn Rayyan's neck and body, suspected to be the result of a criminal act.
Following this, the case previously classified as sudden death has been reclassified as murder and is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Previously, the New Straits Times reported that Zayn Rayyan was noticed missing at 12.30 noon on Tuesday before his mother made announcements on social media and filed a police report.
After more than 30 hours of being missing, the body of the six-year-old victim was found near a river about 200m from his residence in Block R, Idaman Apartments, Damansara Damai.
