KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation on former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng Chong Hwa, in connection to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal is still ongoing.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the probe is heading towards asset tracing but there were no new updates in terms of seized items.

"He has provided good cooperation so far.

"We are at the stage of scrutinising the documents which would lead to the asset tracing.

"No new seizures yet," he said adding the police is yet to ascertain the total value of assets pending investigation. He was speaking at a press conference at Bukit Aman today.

Ng, who is facing a 10-year prison term in the United States in connection to 1MDB case, was returned to Malaysia on Oct 8 to face related charges.

Police had previously said that Ng's location in Malaysia is being kept secret for security reasons.

On updates regarding 1MDB lawyer Jasmine Loo Ai Swan's probe, Razarudin said there was no new development on that matter.

"We have submitted the investigation paper to the Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC)," he said.
