KUALA LUMPUR: A teenager took it upon himself to tell off an adult for lighting up a cigarette inside a restaurant on Sunday.
However, as shown in a viral video, the teen's brave action did not bode well with the man, creating an intense moment.
As shared on Twitter by @bckupacc99, the man was heard telling the teenager that no one, including the workers at the restaurant, dared to reprimand him for smoking a cigarette.
The teenager's friend, who was recording the incident, pointed out to the man that a 'no-smoking' label was attached to the tables.
In the posting, the teenager said there was nothing wrong with a young person advising those older than him, as his action showed that he cared for the person's health and those around him.
He said the man should consider others and smoke the cigarette far from other diners.
The Health Ministry was also made aware of the video via a tweet.
In response, the ministry acknowledged the issue and praised the teenager for advising the smoker.
"We take note and appreciate your concern," the ministry tweeted.
The Twitter posting has gained 3.4 million views with over 6,000 retweets and counting.
