PASIR MAS: Police detained a couple for being in possession of 58 methamphetamine pills, five Epam tablets and 2.1gm of heroin early today.
Pasir Mas police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasaruddin Md Nasir said the 25-year-old man and his 26-year-old girlfriend who both tested positive, were nabbed during a raid in Kampung Semuba near Chetok, here.
"A police team went to a premises in the area following a public tip-off.
"After raiding the place at about 1.45am, they discovered the pills and the heroin and later arrested the two," he said in a statement.
Nasaruddin said initial investigation showed that the two obtained the drugs, worth over RM700, from a local dealer known as "Apis".
"They claimed that the pills and the heroin were for their own consumption," he said.
He added that early investigation also revealed that the labourer and the woman have several previous drug-related records.
