PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Razak's supporters waiting outside the Palace of Justice started chanting "Lawan Tetap Lawan! Justice must prevail, bangkit Datuk Seri" as the Court of appeal delivered its verdict on the former prime minister's appeal in the SRC International case.

The group also took video of themselves as they chanted. They had been gathering outside the court as early as 7am to show their support to Najib.

Rajindran from Bentong, Pahang, who was donning a long-sleeved T-shirt with Najib's photograph printed on it, said he hoped the Pekan MP is freed from all charges.

"I am here only to support Najib. I hope all the evidence put forth by Najib will be heard by the judges and he is freed.

Another supporter, known as Kak Roy, said she has been coming to court since the first day Najib was hauled up in 2018.

She said she had been following the case closely and had attended the trial proceedings in the Kuala Lumpur High Court to show support.

"I've been coming to court for three years to support Najib and I followed the trial," she said.

She said she hoped that Najib will be given the strength to go through his struggles.

"In our hearts, only Najib is the prime minister," said Yasmin Hanipah, a supporter who came from Sungai Buloh.

She said all she wanted was for Najib to be acquitted as she believed that he was innocent.

"We have supported Najib for a very long time. We want him to be free," she added.

Meanwhile, Joyce Liu who is also from Sungai Buloh said since there was new evidence, she hoped that Najib will be given the justice he deserved.
