PASIR MAS: Ten individuals including five women were detained by the police for partying in a hut at Kampung Pasir Parit here last night.

Also detained during the raid at the unlicensed premises was the 63-year-old organiser.

Pasir Mas police chief Assistant Commissioner Nasaruddin Md Nasir said the raid was carried out at 11.30pm by the district criminal team.

"Acting on a tip-off, police raided the outlet and found 10 suspects partying inside the hut.

"They then detained the 10 and seized various types of karaoke equipment," he said in a statement.

Nasaruddin said urine tests conducted on the 10 showed that three of them were positive for methamphetamine.

"Our investigations revealed that the organiser who has been operating since last year, only charged his clients for the drinks and food served.

"The outlet is opened three times a week from 9pm to 2am," he added.

Nasaruddin said the men and women, aged between 31 and 66, have been remanded to assist police investigations into the case.

The case is being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020.
