SHAH ALAM: A 24-year old marketing executive involved in a fatal car crash which killed two teenagers eight days ago, has been charged with murder.

K. Devaaswin nodded his head to indicate that he understood the two charges that were read to him at the magistrate's court, here, today.

However, no plea was recorded before magistrate Nur Faizah Abdul Sani.

Devaaswin was accused of murdering Muhammad Hafiz Syamir Dzul Asri, 19, and Nur Afiqah Abdul Karim, 18, at KM8.6 of the Federal Highway heading towards Kuala Lumpur from Klang at about 1.50am on Sept 12.

The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty.

No bail was allowed to the accused and his case will come up for mention on Oct 21.

Deputy public prosecutor Shukor Abu Bakar conducted the prosecution while Devaaswin was represented by counsel Pushpa Ratnam and R.Thanuja.

It was reported that two teenagers were killed after a motorist who was driving against traffic flow crashed his four-wheel drive vehicle into their car.

The accident took place at KM8.5 of the Federal Highway near here, on Sept 12.

It was then confirmed that the driver of the four-wheel drive tested positive for drugs.
