PETALING JAYA: A beauty specialist who was driving under the influence of alcohol rammed her vehicle into a police roadblock setup along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) near the Damansara toll plaza, here, this morning.

Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said in the 1.05am incident, a team of police was manning the roadblock in the area when a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old woman rammed into their setup.

"Some of the equipment set up for the roadblock were damaged, including signages, blue lights and road safety cones," he said in a statement.

Nik Ezanee said the driver was taken to the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters and a breathalyser test revealed that her alcohol content had exceeded the permissible limit.

The case is being investigated under Section 45A(1) of the Road Transport Act for driving under the influence of alcohol.
